
It was a day filled with pain and sorrow as
a middle aged man, Hyacinth Nwigwe, from Urunnebo, Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka
Local Government in Anambra state buried his wife Francisca and their three
children Chisom, Ebubechukwu, Ifechukwu Saturday November 12th.
The widower lost his whole family and their
househelp in a fatal accident while returning from Pilgrimage at Holy
Land, Olo, Enugu State on September 16th this year. He survived the accident
but was left with a broken leg.
The househelp has since been buried at Ihiala
which is her hometown. The state governor, Willie Obiano who was represented at
the funeral by the Head of Service, Prince Harry Uduh, described the loss
as a painful one.
In his message to the bereaved man, Governor
Obiano said:
"What can you tell a
man that lost his wife and four children? It is a very painful loss. I believe
in my heart that there is nothing God cannot do. He will surely give the family
the fortitude to bear the loss."
He added that his family and indeed the entire state was
mourning with him.
In her Condolence message, the Wife of the
governor, Ebelechukwu Obiano, told the bereaved man to “take heart and be
strong in faith because God in His infinite mercy kept you alive for a good
purpose.”
