People of Aguleri community in Anambra state
gathered in their numbers to undergo a spiritual cleansing in commemoration of
the 2016 Olili Obibia Eri (Eri Festival).
The villagers led by their
traditional ruler, His Majesty, Eze Eri (Ezeora 34th & Aka Ji Ovo Igbo)
gathered at the Omabala river in Aguleri where prayers were said before the
spiritual cleansing began.
The festival which has been
celebrated for many years by the Ezeora kings on the 8th native month of the
year is in memory of the Eri's journey and his subsequent settlement.
