Alexis Sanchez who currently earns £130K
weekly is holding out for a vastly improved deal of of £250K a week and has
rejected an offer of £180K weekly. The prolific attacker is central to the
Gunners' interest and the club is desperate to tie him down to a long term
deal. They are however hesitant to meet his huge demands but remain hopeful a
deal can be struck.
In contrast to Sanchez’s talks, there is a
growing confidence at the Emirates that Ozil, 28, will sign a new deal. Wenger
is adamant Sanchez and Mesut Ozil — who is also entering the final 18 months of
his deal — will not be sold even if they have not penned fresh terms.
